RAC NYSCAR sponsored a great turnout for our January 12, 2012 Kick-Off Luncheon at Midvale Country Club. About 60 attended, 14 of which were guests. Our Kick-Off presentation on Hydrofracking by Michael Hopkins, Senior Enviromental Engineer from Stantec Consulting, was well received.     Members and their guests begin to arrive.   Welcome guests!   Lunch at Midvale Country Club was fantastic, as always!   The 2012 Board of Directors briefs the audience on the Rochester Area Chapter goals for the year and describes different available committee opportunties for members.   Joe Rowley, 2011 NYSCAR Past President, swears in Mercedes Brien and Scott Burdet, new 2012 Board members, while Mark Rohlin, 2012 Rochester Area Chapter NYSCAR President, looks on.     Michael Hopkins, Senior Environmental Engineer with Stantec, was our featured speaker and presented "A Few Facts About Hydraulic Fracturing and Shale Gas Exploration." His presentation included a brief overview of "fracking" and natural gas production, with an emphasis on addressing popular myths.
